Pictured left:  Community volunteer David Hogg and his grandchildren plant a tree on the CEC property.  Planting something with a child connects them to the environment in a meaningful way.  Involve them in plant selection, ground prep, planting, and nurturing!

Rosa's E-waste Recycling Program
Cope Environmental Center and Rosa’s Office Plus will be partnering with Asset Recovery & Recycling and Shred Monkey to offer Monthly E-Waste Recycling.  Bring your e-waste, used toner cartridges, old cell phones, and documents to shred and recycle them at Rosa’s. This will be a monthly event taking place on the third Saturday of every month. Click on the image  at left for more information. This event is open to everyone!
Date:  Every third Saturday of the month
Time:  9am-12pm
Place:  Rosa's Office Supplies Plus- 20 S. 11th St, Richmond
Fee:  FREE!
Turkey Fryer Oil Collection
Frying your bird this year?  Don't toss the oil!  We'll recycle it into biodiesel for use in our vehicles.  Bring sealed containers to CEC and place them under the "Recycling Depot" shelter (follow the signs).  Thanks for helping us reduce waste and produce local energy!

Date:  Beginning November 24th-January 31st.
Time:  Dawn-dusk

Christmas Tree Collection
Don't kick your tree to the curb!  Let us recycle into mulch instead!  RP&L will chip collected trees in February for use on our trail system.  Please remove all decorations and place tree in designated area (follow signs).  Thanks for giving these trees a second life through CEC!

20 for $20 Campaign - It's our 20th Anniversary...celebrate with us!  Each month, CEC will role out a new benefit of supporting CEC!  Once the monthly "20 for $20" deal is revealed, the first 20 people to make a $20 gift through the shopping cart will receive the featured item or experience.  It's our own little "Groupon"- we'll call it a Cope-On! So, stay turned to our website and various social medias to take part in this exciting celebration of our 20th year of service!  Please note:  Item will be available for pick-up in Richmond at the Clear Creek Co-op until the end of each month.  Promotion will end when 20 people have made a gift of $20 through the shopping cart.  Tax deductibility of each month's promotional item or experience will be noted during the check out process.   Any amount beyond the value of the item is deductible.  CEC is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit.  FED TAX ID: 35-1856406   Click here for January's 20 for $20!
7th Annual Alternative Gift Fair - Thank you to all who bought "gifts" at the Alternative Gift Fair this year!  What a great way to celebrate the holidays and those we appreciate in a sustainable way!  CEC received over $3,000 in donations that day.  Thank you to our generous supporters- you make environmental education available to so many!
