Event Partner

Wayne County Foundation generously matches gifts and will again have an additional benefit for new shoppers, children and those who donate to five or more organizations (see "BONUS BUCKS" below)!  Reid Hospital has been a great marketing partner for the past several years and is joining us again this year to help promote the event through billboards!  Summersault has been a great supporter through general gifts* and marketing help, and PCCU joined us for the first time this year with a gift of support.  Thank you so much for all of your support through the years!

*All general gifts of support are divided among the participating agencies.  If your business would like to support the Gift Fair, please email Alison Zajdel at a.clark@copeenvironmental.org.

Gift Fair Info

It's a chance for your holiday shopping to build a better community!  Find the perfect gift for anyone on your list at the 7th Annual Alternative Gift Fair.  Isn't it about time you enjoyed a relaxing, rejuvenating, and joyful shopping experience?  Instead of browsing shelves, shoppers will browse through tables of charities.  Each table will be staffed with a knowledgeable volunteer or staff member waiting to answer questions about missions, programs, or participants. Purchase outdoor experiences for area classrooms, art supplies for after-school programs or food for needy animals. It’s a great way to tailor your gift to your loved one’s favorite cause!

CLICK HERE FOR THE 2011 SHOPPING LIST!

The Fair will include:

• A great variety of organizations- perfect for everyone on your list (see list below)
• Calligraphers to put the finishing touches on your “gift card”
• Gifts prepared in boxes and bows (or mail-ready envelopes) while you wait
• Sustainable ideas for the holidays and beyond
• Free child care for shoppers
• Free chair massages to relax and rejuvenate
• Refreshments for everyone!

Gifts come complete with certificate of donation, information about the selected organization, reusable box, and natural ribbon. Best of all, you’ll be doing more than finishing your list...you’ll be contributing to the health and success of our community.

A note to organizations NOT participating in the Fair this year:  If you wish to "be on the list" for next year's Fair, please mark your calendar for August 1st, 2012.  The application will be posted on this website no later than that date.  We do NOT send paper applications to organizations EVEN if you have participated in past fairs.  We advertise the application date through local media and other sources, but adding this note to your 2012 calendar is the best way to ensure that your application will be reviewed!

Bonus Bucks

Are you new to the Fair or do you know people who would love this type of event?  Mark your calendar and be a part of the fun!  As an added bonus to new shoppers, children, and those contributing to 5 or more agencies, Wayne County Foundation is providing a $10 "gift certificate" for you to use at the Fair to purchase an extra donation for a loved one.  100 certificates will be given out at the door, so if you fall into one of these categories, GET THERE EARLY!  Help our community and finish your list.  We're sure that once you experience the joy of giving through the Alternative Gift Fair, you'll be back next year!

The Alternative Gift Fair is not organized by any one organization, but instead, by a group of community women who believe in philanthropy and sustainable giving!  Special thanks to the committee for their work!
