Fall Night Hike
Join us for our annual fall night hike! We will search for night creatures, try to call in owls, and participate in some fun sensory games. Naturalist Russel Wright will be leading this enjoyable hike, so don’t miss the fun!

Fee: $3 (non-members); FREE (members). Registration required two days in advance.
Come and learn about preserving food using a pressure cooker canner and heating jarred food to pressurize air out of the jars to seal. This method is used for food with no acid content. It is another step toward self-sufficiency.

Invasive Plants of Indiana
Come and learn about invasive plants that are taking over our forests. An “invasive” plant is a non-native plant that infest natural area and causes environmental or economic harm, or harm to human health. Invasive plants harm agriculture, wildlife, pollinators (bees, etc) rare wildflowers, home gardening/landscaping and decrease your ability to hunt, fish, mushroom collect, bird-watch, and many other recreational pursuits. This workshop will be hands-on, and you will learn about the most effective methods in eliminate invasive plants.

Soap Making 101
Come and participate in a hands-on class that will teach you the process of turning melted Base Oils and a Sodium Hydroxide solution in to a loaf of soap that you will be able to take home with you at the end of the class! This class will be taught by Brandy McClurg of SoapEquipment.com, a manufacturer of soap making equipment located in Hagerstown, IN! For examples, check out this link http://soapequipment.com/video/!

Toddler Times 2016
Join us monthly where kids explore the outdoors of CEC through a story, hands-on-activities, crafts, and a hike. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure to dress for the weather! Toddler Time happens rain or shine! Toddler Time runs from 10-11am and costs $3 per toddler. Registration is required. Please call Ruth at 765-855-3188 no later than Monday before the program. Toddler Time has a maximum of 15 toddlers. Themes for Toddler Times this fall are as follows:

E-Waste Recycling, 3rd Sat of Every Month
Rosa’s Office Plus has partnered with Cope Environmental Center! Come to Rosa’s every third Saturday to recycle your e-waste, used toner cartridges, old cell phones, and documents to shred.
